EU BSB 884 held the Second Stakeholders meeting in Dilijan

On 1st of April, 2022 within the EU funded BSB 884 “Joint Monitoring for Environmental Protection in BSB Countries” project the second Stakeholders meeting took place in Dilijan.

The meeting was attended by employees of Dilijan National Park, representatives of local self-government bodies (Council of Elders) of the enlarged Dilijan community, as well as forest managers and specialists in Armenia.

The meeting was launched by Ms. Nune Harutyunyan, Project Team Leader in Armenia. The speaker presented in detail the progress of the project, outlining components like smart monitoring platform creation, the work on capacity development for the staff of the National park and foresters on eco monitoring, drone monitoring, biodiversity conservation, air and water  pollution measurements and invasive species list.

During the meeting, the Manager of project activities Ms. Dshkhuhi Sahakyan presented the goal of joint monitoring of the possible sources and impacts: possible sources of impact and types of pressure on invasive species and habitats, biodiversity conservation and the main issues and priorities for sustainable use of natural renewable resources. The meeting was held in the conditions of active dialogue and discussions.
