Kick-off press conference on BSB-884 Eco Monitoring project in Armenia

On 6th of April, 2021, in Hyatt Place Yerevan Hotel was the kick-off press conference on EU funded BSB 884 -Joint Monitoring for Environmental Protection in BSB Countries project, organized by REC Caucasus (Armenia).
The aim of the kick-off press conference was to present the main objectives and goals of the project, demonstrate the potential use and application of best practices of the creation of an Online Monitoring System (OMS): intelligent platform for the collection, processing and analysis of environmental data via Web-based cloud service for automatic data collection based on the EU approaches.
The conference was focused on:
– Increased awareness on roles of the partnership within EU-funded BSB-884 – Joint Monitoring for Environmental Protection in BSB Countries project among the meeting participant including Ministry of Environment, local authorities and communities, civil society;
– Established cooperation platforms with Ministry of Environment, Local authorities, Dilijan National Park;
– Better understanding of the strategy and policy of the partnership in project implementation aimed at creating favourable conditions for wide spectrum of society.
The meeting was organized by Regional Environmental Centre for Caucasus Armenia Branch Office and has gathered participants from EU delegation Gonzalo Serrano Head of Cooperation, Ms. Anna Mazmanyan, Deputy Minister of Environment RA, Government office Ms. Astghik Hayrapetyan, Specialist at Loans and Grants’ Programs Coordination Department, Ms. Madlen Proshyan, MFA representative, Mr. Levon Azizyan, Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Centre, Acting director, Adam Poghosyan, Director of Dilijan National Park, research institutions, NGOs and other key institutional stakeholders.
